Wild Holidays

See the Safari Park in a whole new light! Take a holiday expedition of light and travel through places that glow and twinkle with holiday cheer. Holiday tunes set the mood, and seasonal food treats tempt you throughout your journey.


Wild Holidays is scheduled on the following dates: November 25–27; December 3–4, 10–11, 17–23, 26–31; and January 1. On Wild Holidays dates, the Safari Park is open until 8 p.m.


Wild Holidays is included with all admission tickets and memberships.

The Safari Park’s very own radio station returns with a mix of contemporary and traditional sounds of the season.

Light Up the Holidays

The area is illuminated as the trees light up in a choreographed show to a custom holiday soundtrack.

  • Jingle Bells and More Medley – 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m.

50th Celebration Holiday Tree

Experience the fun of the giant Safari Park-themed tree with its wildlife decorations and beautiful holiday lighting.


Santa at Village Market

Have your photo taken and visit with the jolly ol' elf himself before he travels back to the North Pole.

  • Nov. 25, 26, and 27 – Noon to 8 p.m.*
  • Dec. 3 and 4 – Noon to 8 p.m.*
  • Dec. 10 and 11 – Noon to 8 p.m.*
  • Dec. 17 and 18 – Noon to 8 p.m.*

*Santa has other duties to complete. He will be away from the Village Market on the following dates at these times:

  • 2-2:15 p.m. – For Santa Zoom call with elves
  • 4:15–4:45 p.m. – For toy inventory
  • 6:30-6:45 p.m. – Santa will be checking his list and checking it twice

  • 11:45–12 p.m. – Santa Zoom call with elves
  • 2–2:15 p.m. – For toy inventory
  • 3:45 – 4 p.m. – Santa will be checking his list and checking it twice

    December 25
  • 2–2:15 p.m. – Preparing to return to the North Pole

Join our adventurer extraordinaire for interactive fun and surprises, as he reads his original holiday story, 'Twas the Night Before Wild Holidays.

Holiday Troubadour

Interact and sing along with our acoustic holiday musician.

Turtle Doves

  • Strolling on Flightline Plaza

This violin duo will play all of your holiday favorites in a classical, symphonic style.

As you travel around the lagoon, encounter these beautifully lighted performers as they journey and glow in the night.

Nairobi Lantern Walk

Journey down the walk and experience the lanterns as they light and change to a musical soundtrack.

Reflections: Our Moment

  • 5:45, 6:45, and 7:45 p.m. (10 minutes)
  • Enchanted Lagoon

Celebrate the holiday season and commemorate 50 years of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park by watching colorful, floating, flickering lanterns dance in a choreographed celebration to an original world music soundtrack.

Experience the season with magical touches at these locations that showcase holiday décor and specially designed, lighted trees that make for the perfect family photo opportunity.

Traveling guitar and percussion performers create acoustic renditions of festive holiday songs.
