You're watching a live stream of the Safari Park's platypuses—the only ones in the US. These special animals serve as ambassadors for the species outside of their native Australia and communicate the importance of fresh water for both humans and wildlife, and we’re honored to be entrusted with their care. Learn more about platypuses here.
Day and night are reversed in our platypus habitat because they are most active at nighttime, when most people visit the Safari Park. But when it's night in San Diego, the lights come up and you can still see them in their daytime pool.
