The San Diego Zoo Safari Park celebrates the season of color with amazing wildlife, special entertainment, and culinary comforts that create joyful memories and down-home family fun. The following are included with Safari Park admission or membership:

The popular, in-Park radio station returns, broadcasting an upbeat, modern country soundtrack that will make you want to jump up and line dance at Safari Base Camp.

  • Nairobi Station, Nairobi Village

Everyone's favorite animated zebra will interact with and greet guests of all ages, educating them in a fun and playful way about wildlife and the environment, especially in the Southwest.

  • Burrowing owls habitat, Condor Trail

Our explorer and adventurer extraordinaire will regale guests with his knowledge of wildlife, specifically about the burrowing owl.

Our Not-So-Scary Scarecrows lead this hoedown full of interactive country dances and fun.

Join this musical trio as they perform traditional country and bluegrass favorites that will keep toes tapping during their down-home performances.

Not-So-Scary Scarecrows

  • 2:45 to 5:45 p.m. (continuous)
  • Village Playground, Nairobi Village

Our playful and interactive characters will meet and greet guests and show off their skills (stilt walking/juggling), while encouraging one and all to venture into the Village Playground.

A-MAZE-ing Autumn Adventure

  • October 8–30
  • 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (continuous)
  • Village Playground, Nairobi Village

Young explorers will love navigating through this experience as they seek out clues to find Southwest wildlife images, and make their way through all the twists and turns.

What better way to end your Autumn Festival evening than commemorating 50 years of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park by watching floating, flickering lanterns as they dance in a choreographed celebration to an original world music soundtrack, on the Mombasa Lagoon.
