Safari Park Wildlife Trek Program Advisements

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027

ALL Wildlife Trek Safaris

• A separate admission ticket or membership is required for Safari Park entry.  Safari Park parking is not included and is paid upon arrival.

Check-In: Wildlife Trek Safaris check-in 15 minutes prior to departure at Safari Excursions, located adjacent to Thorntree Terrace Restaurant in Safari Base Camp (map coordinate Signpost 2).

Minimum Ages

• Walking with Elephants - All ages may join. Children 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by a paid adult. Limit of 2 children per adult per group.
• Sip & Stroll: Elephant Valley - Minimum Age: 21 years. Photo ID required at time of check-in. 

Mobility - Guests with mobility considerations should please call (619) 718- 3000 to inform us of their needs. 

• Mobility devices are permitted.
  • Walking with Elephants - This tour involves about 60 minutes of walking, mostly on established pathways with moderate slopes.
    • Strollers are permitted
  • Sip & Stroll: Elephant Valley - This tour involves about 90 minutes of walking, mostly on established pathways with moderate slopes.

Other Considerations

• Snacks and drinks are permitted. Water is recommended. Guests may be asked to put food and drinks away/aside temporarily in certain wildlife areas.
• Service animals are permitted. Some areas may be sensitive or restricted to service animals; tour routes will be adjusted accordingly.
• Guests are advised to use the restroom before the tour begins.
• Comfortable attire, walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are recommended.
• For the safety of our animals and the comfort of our guests, selfie sticks, and tripods (except tripods used as monopods) are not permitted.  

Change/Cancellations:

Reservations may be changed up to 3 days before the program. Changes made 3 days or less prior to the program are not permitted.

Cancellations received more than 3 days before the scheduled program are subject to a $25 Cancellation Fee. Cancellations made 3 days or less prior to the program, payment is non-refundable.

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park reserves the right to cancel or reroute a tour due to inclement weather, animal health, and/or safety concerns. In the event of cancellation, efforts will be made to reschedule you on a later tour.

Feeding and/or touching wildlife is not offered or permitted. Visits to behind-the-scenes areas are not guaranteed. Tours routes are subject to change based on wildlife care needs and other factors
