Safari Park Roar & Snore Program Advisements

 

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027

 

Roar & Snore Preparation List and Guest Information

 

Non-Supreme Roar & Snore Check-In:  Check-in takes place from 4:15 to 5:00 PM in the Preferred Parking section at the top of the guest parking lot. Guests should drop off their luggage at the Roar & Snore check-in booth and then proceed to Safari Excursions to complete the check-in process. The check-in area is marked by a large “Roar & Snore Safari” sign.

Non-Supreme Roar & Snore Guests will be escorted out to the parking lot by 9:30 AM to receive their luggage. They may then re-enter the Safari Park at their leisure.

 

Supreme Roar & Snore Check-In:  Check-in is from 3:30 – 3:45 PM in the Preferred Parking section at top of guest parking lot. The check-in area is marked by a large “Roar & Snore Safari” sign.  Luggage drop at the Preferred Parking section at top of guest parking lot at the Roar & Snore check-in booth. 

Supreme Roar & Snore Program ends at 10:30 AM at the check-in location, where guests will receive their luggage back from staff. They may then re-enter the Safari Park at their leisure, with their tickets and hand-stamps or membership cards.

 

Minimum Ages

Adults:  21 and over only

All Ages:  All Ages programs require at least one adult, ages 18 and older, per tent.

Supreme:  3 and up only

 

Girl Scouts:  Girl Scouts nights are for Girl Scouts ages 5 and older, with adult chaperones. Girl Scouts must book a designated Girl Scout night. There must be at least one adult chaperone per tent.

School & Youth:  School & Youth Nights are for students in grades 3 through 12, with adult chaperones, as well as youth groups such as YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs, FFA, 4-H, Cub Scouts, Church Groups, etc.  There must be at least one adult chaperone per tent.

Adult-Child Ratio for School & Youth Nights: Adults may not attend without students or youth group members.  The number of adults may not exceed the number of student/child/youth participants. There must be at least one adult chaperone per tent. Students/youth may not sleep in a tent without an adult chaperone. A chaperone is defined as an adult 18 years of age or older and no longer a high school student. Any student, regardless of age or maturity, is not considered a chaperone and will not satisfy the ratio requirement. Adults who have not been designated by the school/teacher/organization as an official chaperone may not attend. Siblings are permitted only if they are in grades 3 – 12 (i.e., no siblings younger than third grade). 


ALL Roar and Snore Safaris:

A separate admission ticket or membership is required for Safari Park entry.  Safari Park parking is not included and is paid upon arrival.

 

Change/Cancellation for Adults and All Ages Nights:

Reservations may be changed up to 30 days before the program with no Administrative Change Fee. Less than 30 days, changes not permitted.

Cancellations received 30 days before scheduled program are subject to a $50 Cancellation Fee. Less than 30 days, payment is non-refundable.

 

Change/Cancellation for Girl Scouts and School / Youth Nights:

$100 Deposit paid at initial booking is non-refundable.

Any balances are due in full 30 days prior to program along with actual number of participants.

Reservations may be changed up to 30 days before the program and will be subject to a $25 Administrative Change Fee. Less than 30 days, changes not permitted.

Cancellations received 30 days before scheduled program will forfeit deposit paid. Less than 30 days, payments are non-refundable.

 

Some walking is required during tours.

Roar and Snore Safaris are an all-weather event; however, during periods of inclement weather, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park reserves the right to cancel or reroute a program due to inclement weather, animal health, insufficient enrollment and/or safety concerns. In the event of cancellation, efforts will be made to reschedule you for a later, applicable Roar & Snore date.

For the safety of our animals and the comfort of our guests, outside food and beverages, selfie sticks, and tripods (except tripods used as monopods) are not permitted.  Drinking water in closed-lid containers is recommended.

For the health and safety of wildlife, service animals are not permitted in all areas during this program, due to the sensitive nature of these animals and the restricted access of these habitats and buildings.
