Wildebeest are members of the antelope family. They are native to savannas and grasslands across southern Africa. For protection against predators, they live in large herds. These herds require a lot of grass and water, so they are always on the move. Wildebeest are famous for their massive migrations, which occur annually at the end of the rainy season.
